Rob Harbron and Miranda Rutter are fine performers, composers and interpreters of folk and traditional music. With English and European traditions as their starting points, their duo performances are inspired and distinctive, accessible and entertaining, blending new composition and settings of traditional tunes with spontaneity and creativity.
Rob is one of today’s finest concertina players and a member of the Fay Hield Trio, Jon Boden’s Remnant Kings and the English Acoustic Collective. Miranda is a leading fiddle and viola player, a founder member of unique quartet Methera, and a member of Boldwood. What We Do...
We play at concerts, festivals, parties, functions and events, and we are very happy performing in informal settings and venues not usually used for live music. We have extensive experience of playing concerts in private houses. We can also play for dances and ceilidhs, and can arrange callers and larger bands as required.
We lead workshops for young people and adults, and have been lead artists on funded youth music education projects.
We also teach individually - Miranda teaches fiddle and viola, Rob teaches English concertina and acoustic guitar - either at our house just outside Stroud in Gloucestershire or by arrangement elsewhere in the region or the country.
